Ayrs Guinea Pig Rescue is a licensed rescue based in Ayrshire, Scotland. Our licence allows us to take in over 100 guinea pigs but we keep the numbers to around 70. We will endeavor to find the best possible homes for all piggies in the centre but some with health conditions may stay with us.
  • If you are looking to surrender your piggies and it is not an emergency case please get in touch and we will happily give tips on ways that you can keep your piggies in their home.
  • Surrendering can be very stressful and should be used as a last resort, as you can imagine going from a house with just one other piggy for many years to somewhere with up to 90 others can be very overwhelming!
  • ​ Please also remember pets are for life not just for christmas or birthdays so before thinking about buying any pet please think about what you life is going to be like in the next 6+ years (what are plans for when you go on holiday etc)
  • It is also extremely important to check for any allergies before deciding on a pet, we urge anyone looking into adopting some piggies for the first time to come into the centre and check the whole family for allergies of the hay, wood shavings and the piggies themselves, as this is one of the most common reasons for surrendering.

SUNDAY - everything shut.
