Ayr's Guinea Pig Rescue and Rehoming Centre was offically opened in 2016. Over the past 7 years and prior to this, we have taken on many animals in need of rescue, but our love for guinea pigs in particular is so strong that we founded the centre so we can help the many piggies desperately in need.
We offer a safe haven for piggies who are mistreated, neglected or where their families can no longer take care of them until a new forever home can be found. If for any reason new homes cannot be found, whether this be from age, illness, etc. then they will spend the rest of their days in our care, as a resident of the centre.
If you are interested in, and think you could offer one our little piggies a forever home please get in touch with us.
Bear in mind the size of caging/hutching required for these wee piggies as they do love space. When it comes to piggies, the bigger the better!!
It is not our policy to adopt out these wee piggies to where they will be used for breeding, or where they run the risk of falling pregnant. Some have gone through enough in their wee lives, without running the risks pregnancy can cause.

HOW TO FIND US
The rescue centre is located in the middle of Ayr town in a quiet lane off Newmarket Street, during our shop opening days we are accessible via the shop front on the lane. And on days were the shop is shut we are accessible by going up the close just next to our shop front and ringing our bell.
We are a short walk away from Ayr train station and bus station, and have multiple car parks a few minutes walk away, unfortunately we do not have car parking facilities at the centre but if you need any assistance reaching us from car parks we are happy to help.
The following images have the directions from the train station and the nearest Car park, with description added.
Please always message us prior to visiting so we can book you an appointment.

FROM THE TRAIN STATION
Get off the train at Ayr and walk though ayr central shopping which is just at the current train station exit. Walk all the way through Ayr central and turn right onto Kyle street. Walk down Kyle street to the highstreet. If you keep on the left hand side all the way down beside the shops you will reach a point were the shops split away from the edge of the road near 'Greggs', if you stay left it will take you to Hope Street which is where we are. We are at the side of Wallace allan jewellery near "they bake". If our shop is open our sign will be out and the shutter will be fully up and you can access the rescue via there, if not go up the close next to our shop window (Blainey Quinn Close) and ring the bell on the white door.
